The HOW Design Conference kicks off in 25 days. This is a great opportunity for creatives to get together and kick up their heels as it being held in Austin, Texas this year. Designers from all over the world meet each year to learn and socialize, learn some more and socialize some more, and finally socialize a lot on the final evening before returning home. On hand, as always, will be a fabulous line-up of speakers from opening to closing night. The Conference program features a wide range of sessions on everything from getting new clients to boosting your creativity. 50,000 what you ask? The answer is flexes…binder flexes. We’ve always been curious about the strength of our 3 ring binders, so we packed some up and sent them to an independent lab for testing. We've known for years that our binder’s board,which is the core of the 3 ring binder, is special. First of all, it comes from Holland.
Secondly, our binders board comes from office waste...not your ordinary street waste. Since the founding of Corporate Image 25 years ago, we’ve made it a point to purchase the highest quality100% recycled board. Our concern for the environment has been a driving force for the company, which started with the mission to replace toxic vinyl binders with an aesthetically attractive and sustainable alternative. Quite simply, our binder’s board has the best characteristics of any board around. It lays flat and stays flat, it has a smooth and even surface and it is strong, so strong in fact that the spine did not fail after a machine flexed it 50,000 times.
Now, if you try this at home, you will probably be very, very tired and your ring binder will probably show some wear. But the good news is, it will still perform and you will have had a heck of a workout.
Our eco binders are so environmentally friendly that when your binder is ready for the big sleep...the recycle bin (which could take awhile, because they are well constructed) you can insert a flat blade screwdriver under the ring, twist and it will pop right off. It takes less than 10 seconds and couldn’t be easier. The ring can now be recycled and the binder can be tossed back into the waste stream for recycling. Just heard from our Graphic Design team at Movement that they entered our 09 catalog and new web site in a national design competition…and they won! Kudos to Kelly and Kylee for their design work on both projects.
Corporate Image designs a new catalog every 2-3 years, which usually entails a complete art makeover to keep the catalog fresh and inspiring for our audience of designers and marketers. For the past few years , the catalog has taken a different direction and focused on our Corporate Image customers. We traveled to their workplaces with our photographer in tow to capture in print where and how our binders, pocket folders, sales boxes, and corrugated packaging are used and the people with whom we work. It’s been a very successful campaign and soon we’ll point our energy and creativity in a new direction for 2010. Whether it's an annual update or a brand new catalog, we strive to make the catalog a great resource to help our customers find the right products to make their messages stand out.
